Those who read e-books report they have read more books in all formats. They reported an average of 24 books in the previous 12 months and had a median of 13 books. Those who do not read e-books say they averaged 15 books in the previous year and the median was 6 books.

“Too many of us are too focused on what we want to produce and how we expect people to consume news that we’re not spending enough time looking at how people’s behavior and consumption patterns are changing”

Unsurprisingly, Ginsberg suggests reading (and buying) works by quite a few of his best friends — Burroughs, Kerouac, Snyder, Whalen, Gregory Corso, Robert Creeley — but he also advocates Ezra Pound, William Carlos Williams and Charles Reznikoff, the original Objectivist poet.

5) Γιατί είναι τόσο χάλια η νέα έκδοση του Kindle app για το iPad;

 Having ample margins helps the eye flow over the text and makes it easier to move from one line to the next while reading. Making the margins smaller in the app hinders the ease with which the eye can move over the page, making the book harder to read, not easier. Also, it’s just ugly.

“Everything we hate about the media today was present at its creation: its corrupt or craven practitioners, its easy manipulation by the powerful, its capacity for propagating lies, its penchant for amplifying rage. Also present was everything we admire — and require — from the media: factual information, penetrating analysis, probing investigation, truth spoking to power. Same as it ever was.”
